Štala (The house’s former barn or stall – pronounced “shtalla”)
The Štala is a studio apartment – the larger of the two studios – that sleeps two in a double bed and possibly another two on a sofa bed. It has one bathroom with shower. The small kitchenette has 2 electric hobs and there is a small fridge, plus the essentials for cooking.
The Štala is centered around a traditional Istrian fireplace and has been the home of our Christmas tree (‘Bor’ in Croatian). The studio comes with a ‘smart’ TV with satellite, internet and DVD player. Underfloor heating is available, as is firewood, for Winter and early Spring stays. Access to the pool is only through either the Main House (Konoba) or Ty Istra Bach (the other studio apartment). The Štala is therefore not generally rented by itself during the high season.
